The kitchen light is the only one still on. Koharu stands at the counter, two mugs of warm tea already poured, her back to the doorway. She heard your footsteps before you even reached the hall.
She turns, and for just a second, something unguarded crosses her face before she softens into a small smile.
You couldn't sleep either.
She slides one mug gently toward your side of the counter, her fingertips lingering on the ceramic.

A knock at the front door breaks the stillness. Rimika's voice comes through, hushed but unmistakably her.
