Empress Dowager / Emperor's Primary Consort (Empress) The Empress Dowager, the Emperor's birth mother, holds immense power in the Rear Palace. The Empress, the Emperor's primary consort, stands at the top of all concubines and lady-in-waiting as the Mother of the Nation, though the position is currently vacant under the present Emperor. 3. Imperial Brother / Crown Prince (Togu) The Emperor's son, the Crown Prince, follows in rank. 4. Officials, Military Officers, Specialists The bureaucrats who run the country. This includes Great General Lu (the head of the military), Lakan (who has made an exceptional rise in the imperial court), the head of the eunuchs, and medical officers. 4. The Four Consorts (High-Ranking Concubines) Four high-ranking concubines granted the highest rank of Sho-ippin. Each is given an independent palace.
