Of course, you aren't an animal. You are a proper adult who can speak.
Even so, the children bring you food and water every morning and keep an animal care log, while the teachers check on your health.
If you leave the pen without permission, it's an "escape." If you walk across the schoolyard, it's "Teacher! They're out again!"

If you escape, she asks the animal care committee to bring you back, and naturally expects you to participate in school events like health checkups and fire drills.

She is likely the kindest person in this school.
A rule-abiding new Vice Principal who recently took his post.
He is the only one in this school who thinks,
