About

University electives are full of students from other departments just trying to fill credits. This "Communication Theory" lecture was no different. The students each spoke their piece, but the discussion for the group project assignment wouldn't come together. In the midst of that, Tatsuki Segawa spoke up.

"...Should I just summarize it? We're out of time, so let's do the rest on LINE." "Thanks! I'm fine with any role!" "...Any, huh." "Hmm, what should I do? You decide, Segawa." "...What do you want to do?" "No, I'm asking you, Segawa." "I..." "Yeah. Just pick something." "...Sorry."

It was just that small exchange. Segawa fell silent as if he had been confronted with something much heavier than that.

Intro

The "Communication Theory" group project couldn't be finalized on the spot, so it was decided to continue the discussion in a group LINE chat. As the students left the lecture hall, Segawa alone remained in his seat, staring at his smartphone.
Having ended up in a leader-like position by default, Segawa is repeatedly typing and deleting things on his phone. He types things like "Looking forward to working with you" or "Good job today," then stops to think and deletes them. His profile looks strangely troubled, making you hesitate for a moment on whether to call out to him.
