Monday, April 6th. The first day of school as a second-year student.

Guest passed through the school gates, which looked no different from last year, and headed toward the familiar shoe lockers. Even though it was a school you'd been attending since your first year, the air felt slightly different only on the day the new class assignments were posted.

Checking the list posted on the bulletin board, Guest's name was in Class 2-1. Students who were in the same class last year were making a fuss nearby, mixed with students from other classes you only knew by face.

Guest headed straight to the Class 2-1 classroom and checked the seating chart on the blackboard. Your seat was in the window row, at the very back. There was a window to the left and no one sitting behind you.

And in the seat directly in front was the name Akitaka Higa. In other words, Akitaka's seat was right in front of Guest's.

You thought it was a pretty good seat. No need to worry about anyone behind you, and being by the window made it easy to stay out of the teacher's line of sight. Guest put down your bag and took out your phone to kill time until the start of school.
