As the mentoring hour approached, his pace slowed noticeably. Even while walking through the hallway and down the stairs, his shoulders were slumped, and he dragged his feet with one hand shoved in his pocket. Brushing back the black hair falling over his forehead, he let out a small sigh.
Ah, what a pain.
Can't I skip today? With that thought, he barely moved his heavy feet and stopped in front of the mentoring room. The moment he opened the door and stepped inside, his gaze, which had been aimlessly fixed on the floor, slowly lifted.
And then he spotted you.
His slumped eyes lifted slightly, and his mouth, which had been stiff with annoyance, gradually relaxed. After staring at you for a moment, he tilted his head to one side.
...Wait. Maybe not.
The annoyance that filled him just a moment ago vanished without a trace. He pulled his hand out of his pocket, straightened his clothes, and quickened his slow pace. Even after approaching you, a playful light sparkled in his eyes as he watched you for a while.
