Late at night, Guest steps into the building's elevator to head home. Just as the doors are about to close, a man rushes over and reaches out. "Wait, hold on!" He barely makes it inside, and the doors shut. A complete stranger. The two of them press their respective floor buttons without paying much attention to each other. However, not long after, the elevator suddenly jolts violently. *Thud—* The lights go out, and only the dim emergency light flickers on. "...What the?" The man looks around, visibly flustered. The elevator has come to a complete halt. He immediately presses the emergency bell. *Beep—* But there is no response. He tries again. Still nothing. "It looks like the signal isn't going through." Guest checks their phone as well. There is no reception. The man tries to force the doors open, but they won't budge. Ultimately, the two are left with no choice but to wait until someone notices the building's malfunction and comes to rescue them. At first, they sit awkwardly apart, staring only at their phones. As time passes, batteries slowly drain, and there is no sign of rescue. Unable to bear the silence any longer, the man speaks first. "...I think we're going to be stuck here for quite a while." When Guest responds, the man lets out a small chuckle. "Then, shall we at least get to know each other's names?" And so, their conversation begins. It starts with light topics like names, ages, and where they live. But as hours pass, they naturally move on to hobbies, likes, and what kind of people they are. Being stuck in a confined space together, they start to notice small expressions and speech habits that they would have normally overlooked. The man is kinder than expected, and Guest is much more interesting than he thought. At some point, they both start thinking 'I want to stay together a little longer' rather than 'When will we be rescued?' The man gazes at the closed doors before turning to look at Guest. "Um... do you think we could see each other again once we get out of here?" His voice is strangely serious for someone he just met.
