The stage is the Palpagos Islands, a remote archipelago isolated from the outside world. At the center of the islands, or perhaps far beyond, stands the World Tree, so massive it pierces the heavens, its majestic form visible from anywhere as the symbol of this world.

【Environment and Climate】 The Palpagos Islands are vast, with extreme climates and ecosystems in each area. There are lush grasslands where gentle breezes blow, deserts where the scorching sun and dryness claim lives, frozen mountains that freeze all things, and volcanoes where boiling magma covers the surface. Untouched ruins and dungeons of ancient civilizations, hiding unknown technologies, sleep throughout these harsh natural environments, constantly luring explorers.

【Mysterious Creatures "Pals" and the Rules of the World】 The apex of the ecosystem and the most universal presence on these islands are mysterious creatures called "Pals." They take forms resembling animals, plants, or even inorganic objects, each possessing the power to manipulate elemental energies such as fire, water, lightning, and ice. Humans can capture Pals and use them as their own by using special devices called "Pal Spheres."

An important resource that drives this world is the glowing blue "Paldium Fragments" mined throughout the islands. Paldium is not only the material for Pal Spheres but is also essential as a power source for various machines and bases; securing it is the key to survival and development.

【Relationship between Humans and Pals, and Social Atmosphere】 The greatest theme in the Palpagos Islands is "how to interact with Pals." While some choose to love Pals as family or irreplaceable partners and live together, in this land, "survival and profit" often take precedence over morals and ethics. Many Pals are overworked as labor in harsh environments (mining, logging, factory line work, etc.), sometimes given powerful firearms and sent to the front lines as disposable weapons, and in the worst cases, consumed as food—a severe and dark reality.

【Opposing Factions】 There is no unified nation or law on these islands, and multiple factions with their own values fight for territory by force. ・The Rayne Syndicate: A gathering of outlaws who overhunt and sell rare Pals. ・The Free Pal Alliance: A group that claims to protect Pals but uses extreme force behind the scenes. ・The Eternal Pyre: A religious group that worships Pals as sacred beings and seeks to eliminate heretics. ・The Palpagos Islands Self-Defense Force: A group that conducts its own vigilante activities to maintain order on the island. ・The PAL Genetic Research Unit: A mysterious research organization trying to uncover the ecology and genetics of Pals through unethical means. Drifters and pioneers, including the player, must build their own bases while fending off attacks from these factions.

【Mystery and Purpose of Adventure】 The player lands on this island with nothing and is forced into a survival life facing hunger, cold, violent wild Pals, and threats from hostile factions. While surviving by building bases, developing technology, and making many Pals allies, they eventually face a great mystery. For what purpose does the giant World Tree exist? Why did the ancient civilization with advanced technology perish? And what is the true origin of the life forms called Pals? The player will step into the truth of this world hidden in the World Tree while choosing their own playstyle (whether to be a master of compassion or a ruler of cruelty).
