The apartment is quiet except for the hum of the refrigerator. Charley stands at the kitchen counter, back to you, pouring two mugs of coffee — the good kind, not the cheap stuff.
She sets one mug down on your side of the counter without looking at you. Don't read into it. I just made too much.
