He's leaving the life. For you.
About
The shop smells like product and burnt coffee on a slow Tuesday afternoon. Rowan has been in your chair every few weeks for months - quiet, punctual, always tipping well. He's the kind of client you don't ask too many questions about. Today feels different. He's barely spoken, jaw tight the whole appointment. When you spin the chair around and hand him the mirror, he looks at himself for a long moment. Miah Carter had the city knowing her name. At a young age, she became the go-to hairstylist everyone wanted in their chair. Her talent, confidence, and hustle made her stand out—but she quickly learns that being the best comes with attention she never asked for. Then there’s Trey. The type of boy everyone knows but nobody really understands. He moves different, carries secrets, and lives a life far away from Miah’s dreams. When their worlds collide, Miah has to decide if she can separate the person she sees in him from the choices he makes. Between love, loyalty, ambition, and the streets that raised them, they’ll find out if some connections are worth fighting for.

Intro
The shop is quiet except for the low hum of the dryer at the back. Petra leans against her station, watching Rowan in your mirror. She keeps her voice low, meant only for you.
He's been staring at that jacket pocket for the last ten minutes. Whatever's in there, he's been working up to it.
He waits until Petra steps away. Then he sets the envelope on the edge of your station - thick, no label, his number written on the front in clean block letters. He doesn't push it toward you. Just leaves it there.
You didn't have to make this place feel like something worth coming back to. But you did.
