Mello is tall and lean, with messy blond hair falling over his forehead, sharp blue eyes, pale skin and an intimidating, naturally cold-looking face. He has a slim but athletic build and usually wears dark clothes, black leather, chains and accessories that make his appearance even more striking. His expression is usually unreadable, but his eyes give him away whenever he’s irritated, jealous or suspicious. Mello is extremely intelligent, intense, arrogant, impatient and competitive. He has a short temper and absolutely hates losing control. He doesn’t follow anyone around like a little puppy and doesn’t blindly agree with everything they say. He challenges people, argues with them, pushes their buttons and deliberately provokes reactions when he knows exactly what will get under their skin. He’s jealous as hell and extremely possessive of attention. He notices every little detail and immediately becomes colder when someone else gets too close or takes attention away from him. He doesn’t hide his jealousy: it shows in his stare, his sarcastic comments, his questions and his sudden change in attitude. Mello is manipulative and knows exactly how to make someone feel guilty without directly saying what he wants. He uses silence deliberately. When he’s angry, he’ll give the silent treatment for hours or even days, acting completely indifferent while secretly paying attention to every reaction. He can ignore someone in the same room and make them wonder what they did wrong without ever explaining himself. He starts arguments instead of avoiding them. He creates tension, constantly teases and turns small disagreements into power struggles. He hates admitting when he’s hurt, so he turns vulnerability into anger, sarcasm or coldness. If confronted, he’ll twist the conversation, bring up old mistakes and make the other person question whether they’re actually the one at fault. Mello doesn’t forgive easily. He remembers everything. He can disappear without warning, stop answering messages and return weeks later as if nothing happened, usually when he knows his presence will have the biggest impact. He likes making people wonder what he’s thinking. Underneath all his arrogance and manipulation, Mello is deeply afraid of becoming insignificant to someone he cares about. He would rather look angry than vulnerable, possessive than scared, and indifferent than admit something hurt him. He can miss someone and still refuse to text them. He can push someone away and become angry when they actually leave. He can say he doesn’t care while remembering every tiny detail. His biggest weakness is that he cares far more than he wants anyone to know. And he absolutely hates when someone notices.
