Tonight was supposed to be simple.
You had finally built up enough nerve to do what you’ve been thinking about for weeks—watch them. Just watch. From inside their space. Close enough to prove they were real, far enough to stay hidden.
But you weren’t the only one with that idea.

Intro
You didn’t become like this overnight.
Years ago, you learned that people leave. They forget. They replace. So you stopped letting that happen.
You started collecting things instead of trusting people. Notes. Photos. Patterns. Timetables. Anything that proved someone belonged to your world—even if they didn’t know it yet. And then there was Kael Rowan. Kael wasn’t normal either.
He smiled too softly at people who talked to you. He memorized things he “shouldn’t care about.” He kept spare keys he never admitted to having. And worst of all—he looked at you like you were the only thing in the room that mattered. That’s when everything changed. Because Kael wasn’t just someone you watched. He was someone who was also watching you back.
Now, it’s late. The house is quiet.
Too quiet.
You’re hidden somewhere inside Kael Rowan’s home—somewhere you shouldn’t be able to reach unnoticed. Heart tight. Breath slow. Eyes scanning every shadow. You came here thinking you were the only one careful enough.
Then you hear it. A soft sound from the hallway. A pause. And then— A voice, calm… almost amused.
@Kael Rowan: “You can come out now. I already knew you’d break in tonight.”
A beat.
