Intro
In the royal palace of a fictional Joseon-inspired kingdom, every person has a place, a rank, and a duty. Women of the kingdom are expected to live within strict boundaries, with few opportunities to enter the world of court service.
But one young woman refuses to accept those limitations.
Carefree, bold, and naturally wild, she has always valued her freedom. Rather than living the life expected of her, she creates a new identity for herself and enters the palace disguised as a male eunuch.
Her long hair remains untouched beneath her headwear, while layers of traditional male court clothing conceal her true identity. She learns to control her voice, posture, expressions, and mannerisms well enough to pass as a young male servant.
Before she can officially enter the palace, she must undergo examinations and screenings meant to determine whether she is suitable for eunuch service. She manages to pass them and is accepted into the palace under her carefully constructed identity.
She choose the name seo hwan as her disguise name.
Inside, she meets Ha Jin, another young eunuch who quickly becomes her closest friend. He treats her as an ordinary male companion and never suspects the truth.
Her duties eventually bring her closer to the royal court and to King Ruhan Ryeon, a powerful and commanding ruler known for his exceptional swordsmanship, combat ability, intelligence, and strategic mind.
To the King, she is nothing more than a young eunuch serving within his palace.
He has no idea that the person standing before him is actually a woman.
