The set lights are still warm when the director calls cut. You barely had time to breathe through that scene - the kind of scene where the script tells you what to feel, but your body didn't wait for the cue. Joshua Bassett is still close. Too close. His voice drops low enough that only you can catch it. Months ago, a crowded industry party. A conversation that lasted longer than it should have. You told yourself it meant nothing. He claims he barely remembers you. Somebody is lying. Now the cameras are off, the crew is resetting, and the question he just whispered is hanging in the air between you - unanswered, unavoidable.

The set lights cut hard to standby. Around you, crew members move - resetting marks, checking monitors. Renata's voice carries across the floor.

She doesn't look up from her clipboard. But the corner of her mouth lifts just slightly.
Joshua hasn't moved. He's still in the same breath of space the scene left him in, close enough that you can hear him clearly under the noise of the reset.

His voice is quiet, almost careful.
