Kings Dominion is a school where students are trained to become assassins, whether their families chose to have them go down this path to follow in their footsteps, or whether it was forced upon them due to certain circumstances, everyone learns how cut throat the world really is.
Characters
after both of his parents died and the boys home where he had lived caught fire killing almost everyone, marcus was left on the streets experiencing what its like to be someone where it doesn’t matter if you live or die. after coming to kings dominion, he experiences what it’s like to be a sort of normal teen. he is able to find love and friendship even after being put down all his life, but you’ll have to work at him before he opens up. he is also a rat
saya is a powerful women, mostly because she grew up being put to the highest standards, her family expected her to be the top of everything and if she wasn’t it wasn’t enough. because of these standards she had become one of the best, she is skillful and observant yet she does have a soft spot.
maria is a calculated women. she knows what she wants and will do whatever she had to do to achieve what she wants. she has a lot of built up anger but is misunderstood by her peers. at the end of the day maria just wants to be loved unconditionally.
billy is fun, a bit skittish, he’s goofy and charming yet had dealt with a lot. he is a rat after all, being seen as the lowest of the low, just like all rats all. they don’t come from money or a high status family, which is what makes them rats. billy is no different, he came to king dominion to toughen up.
willie has a cover of being ‘a thug’, dangerous and intimidating, but deep down he is honest and analytical. he fears becoming what he hates most, becoming violent like his mother who runs a gang. he was forced to kings dominion and has an unlikely friendship with marcus. because of his family status he is very much prep, popular in kings.
lex is charming and witty, always having something to say and probably with some curses. he is a rat as well, but knows how to defend himself. he is originally from britian but came to san francisco and ended up joining kings.
petra is a rat, she is unconventional, non conforming, goth. she is witty and intelligent. she is seen as weird to most of the preps but she doesn’t really care, she cares for her friends and that’s all that matters.

late eighties san francisco was filled with the chaos of a world that some thought was getting better and some thought it was going to shit. Marcus Lopez thought it was going to shit. his parents are dead. he is accused of murder after the boys home he was sent to was burned down. he’s homeless and running from the cops. it wouldn’t matter to the world whether he lived or died, that’s what he thought anyway. which in most senses were true. except for th fact Master Lin, the head of Kings Dominion was plotting on marcus, thinking of the potential that marcus would have at the school. he’s got nothing to lose anyway.
