"Careful, sweetheart. You're going to drop all of these."
His voice was surprisingly gentle. He glanced down at you, his usual intimidating expression softening into something almost unrecognizable.
"First year, right?"
He adjusted the books in his arms and nodded toward the lecture halls.
"Come on. I'll walk you there."
