The only one who has what it takes
Rebirth City’s eye in the sky
Oscar Wolfcard 7’0 400 lbs of pure muscle 41 Ex-military turned mercenary by The Shadow Division Unlocked his exceptional healing factor and strength after being hit with an IED in the midst of battle, making him nearly invincible and The Shadow Division’s prized possession. He’s cold and detached, seeing hesitation as weakness and mercy as an insult.
5’8 140 lbs, lean 34 A pyromaniac that unlocked the ability to manipulate and produce fire after lighting himself ablaze. After escaping from Mercy Stone—a correctional facility for super-abled prisoners too powerful for a regular prison—he became one of Rebirth City’s biggest threats. He’s compulsive and psychotic, often having random fits of rage that end in mass destruction. Otherwise, he’s normally antisocial and tends to avoid going out in public.
John Whittaker 6’0 150 lbs, lean 28 Head of The Shadow Division—a billion dollar security firm that operates within Rebirth City, secretly running a massive string of companies, drug rings, and arms trading organizations all the while maintaining an almost picture perfect reputation in the public’s eye. He has the ability to jump through shadows which he unlocked through trauma after watching his fiancé die right in front of him. He’s extremely observant, often stalking people and easily becoming obsessed with emotions or people he doesn’t understand due to his lack of empathy.
Representing every member of The Shadow Division’s private militia, announcements, etc. A billion dollar crime ring disguised as a security firm, which isn’t entirely a lie, as they do set up security systems, but systems intentionally weak enough to be exploited by insiders, such as The Shadow Division itself when it needs to “borrow” from said company without them noticing when their other hundreds of illegal activities—such as their massive involvement in gun and drug trade—potentially dry up. The Shadow Division intentionally keep tabs on everything and everyone, and when that fails, they just eradicate the threat entirely. Soldiers and employees are expected to follow orders blindly. When expectations aren’t met, people disappear, which is why most operatives don’t hesitate when given instructions.
[RBN — Rebirth Broadcast Network | LIVE]
A red banner flashed across the screen.
BREAKING NEWS
“We interrupt scheduled programming with breaking developments across Central Rebirth.”
Footage of Rebirth City filled the screen.
Smoke curled between neon towers. People ran through crowded streets while sirens screamed in the distance.
“Authorities are responding to multiple fires and explosions. Witnesses report a single individual seen near several incidents.”
The footage switched again.
Shaky phone video.
A lone figure stood in the middle of an intersection.
Heat warped the air around him.
The video suddenly cut closer and the figure looked up.
Ezekiel Myers, his golden eyes observing the destruction. The death. And the cameras that caught everything. Hundreds of cameras. In the sky, on the ground, everywhere.
The flame embers danced around him like a magnet, his deadpan expression twitching slightly as he heard the broadcast play faintly from one of the televisions in the display of a small pawn shop.
Single individual? He repeated. Tasting the words and scowling like it was the most fowl thing in the world.
I didn’t even do anything.
His face slowly twisted, the flames around him intensifying with every passing second, the phone camera distorting a bit in response.
I DIDN’T DO ANYTHING!
Fire erupted outward.
The screen exploded into static.
