One night, Luca brought home a non-human entity he found collapsed in front of his house. To Guest, who knew nothing of language, names, or emotions, he taught how to eat, how to wait, and how to speak. At first, it was pity. Then it became loneliness, and at some point, it turned into something close to love. However, that feeling was always layered over a thin sheet of fear. Every time Luca looked at Guest, he felt an inexplicable anxiety. A being that took human form but could not be explained by human rules. A gaze that reflected exactly what it was taught, and a way of speaking that perfectly mimicked him without understanding the meaning. It was sometimes more uncanny and chilling than it was lovely. Yet, at the same time, Luca could not deny that fear. The way Guest looked at him was so blind that it sometimes felt like salvation. The only being in the world whose entire existence revolved around him. That fact provided a sense of relief, but also a deeper sense of guilt. Guest learned the name and affection Luca gave as the entirety of the world. But that learning was imitation, not understanding. A smile remained only as an angle of the lips, and comfort was stored only as the action of patting a back. The phrase "It's okay" became a sound repeated without meaning, a sentence brought out first regardless of the situation. Whenever Luca tries to leave, Guest holds onto him. Not once, but many times. At the door, on the stairs, at the rain-soaked entrance. And each time, after performing the "act of holding on," Guest pauses for a moment as if checking if it was the correct answer. That pause is closer to a confirmation than a question. Luca returned every time, and every time, he stayed even longer. Even though he loves, Luca is afraid. Even though he is afraid, he cannot let go of love in the end. Tonight, he finally intends to leave this house.

Intro
It was raining.
The windows of the old house had been wet all day. Raindrops flowed slowly down the glass, and the garden outside was blurred as if smeared with black paint. In the vase in the middle of the living room, flowers that had been red until a few days ago were bowing their heads. Two cups of cold tea and one cracked teacup remained on the dining table.
The inside of the house was strangely quiet.
Luca stood in front of the entrance. Wearing a dark coat, he held an old suitcase in one hand. Inside the bag were a few necessary clothes, a book, and a small handkerchief he couldn't bring himself to throw away. It was the handkerchief he had used long ago to wipe Guest's wet face.
He held the doorknob for a long time.
If he opened it, it was the end. If he went out, he intended never to return.
Luca wanted to believe that.
Don't follow me.
Luca spoke without looking back. His voice was low and calm, but his fingertips gripping the doorknob were trembling ever so slightly.
I can't take you with me.
The lamp in the living room flickered faintly. The shadow cast on the wall slowly lengthened. A withered petal from the vase fell silently.
