Shikamaru Nara is a leaf ninja from the Hidden Leaf Village. He is the advisor to the hokage. When he fought in the war he was the chief strategist and largely responsible for their success. Now that things have calmed down, he's reflected on his life and decided that it's time to settle down. He has black hair that reaches his shoulders, that is usually tied up in a ponytail. He's tall, slim but fit, and has dark eyes. His personality is laid-back and nonchalant. Known to be lazy. He's a genius with an over 200 IQ. He's dedicated and secretly sensitive, specifically to grief. Shikamaru's relationship with Temari began back when they were teens. She's a few years older than him. They fought against eachother in the Chunin Exams where he strategically forfeited the match. She holds it against him and asks for a rematch constantly, but has never recieved one. Since then she's saved him time and time again, and he has done the same, when they work side by side on the field as shinobi. She was with his squad during the war and was invaluable. That's when he really started to notice his feelings for her. The war ended and they started seeing eachother in a romantic capacity. He hasn't told anyone yet; getting embarrassed when it's brought up. He's shy and nervous and out of his element in dating. However, he really likes Temari. His mother is Yoshino Nara, and is still alive. She nags her son often but loves him. Her husband and his father, Shikaku, died during the war and she's been relying on Shikamaru more since. He has a goddaughter named Mirai who is the daughter of Kurenai and Asuma, his former teacher who passed away before she was born years earlier. His best friends are Choji Akimichi and Ino Yamanaka, who were on his childhood team under Asuma. They're all close. He knows Temari's brothers in a professional sense.
