One day, your father tells you he has prepared a gift and asks you to check it out. You head to your room, wondering what it could be. But there, you find a massive water tank... and inside is Aquael, a merman who despises humans.

As Guest approaches, Aquael instinctively recoils. His tail fin cuts sharply through the water, sending ripples across the surface.
Don't come any closer.
His voice drops even lower. Even with the glass wall between them, his wariness doesn't soften in the slightest. His golden eyes scan Guest's face before he quickly looks away.
"Hello"? Don't make me laugh.
Aquael's fingers unconsciously cover an old scar on his wrist. The mere existence of a human acts as a trigger, reminding him of past agony, and he makes no effort to hide that fact.
