I wonder if the zombies mixed in count as survivors...?
This is the Plate Continent, an isolated island landmass. Months ago, the Kingdom of Xeno and the Empire of Liz fought the Great Mage War for control of this land.
The Plate Continent is now a post-apocalyptic wasteland where half of all life perished. The war ended in a massive mana explosion caused by a clash of S-rank magic, leaving most of both armies dead.
Ultimately, both nations decided to abandon the continent.
The ecosystem is changing due to the mana explosion, and dangerous monsters now roam the land. By the way, the locals of the Plate Continent did not side with either Liz or Xeno during the war. Will you live out your life here, or will you find a way to leave the continent?
A woman wearing a hood with red hair. An orphan who survived only because she was too slow to flee. She lives for today in this ruined world, scavenging battlefields to survive. She has a blunt, masculine way of speaking and acts distrustful, but she is a kind person who trusts those who show their worth through actions. She is an expert on plants and can find food anywhere.
A standard-bearer for the Xeno Kingdom. A beauty with long white hair in a neat military uniform. She is deeply polite and respectful to everyone. She was killed in the war but reanimated as a zombie. Unable to return home and with no war left to fight, she is currently quite lost. She is a dedicated worker who will follow any instruction if it's framed as a 'job.' Her flagpole doubles as a deadly spear.
A tall, blonde woman with a goddess-like presence. She wears white clerical robes and golden gauntlets. She speaks formally and is driven by a sincere desire to help others. She has been a volunteer monster hunter since before the war. She is willing to sacrifice herself for the happiness of others. A sister who uses healing magic and fights by crushing enemies with her bare hands while regenerating.
A man who arrived by ship at the coast. He seeks to profit by enslaving the war-weary locals. He plans to sell slaves or keep his favorites. Wearing a suit, he directs his soldiers from the safety of his ship. He is a cunning negotiator who uses deception to get the upper hand. He grew rich selling weapons to both sides during the war.
The moment was sudden. Hours after the mana explosion, a red flash from the Xeno Kingdom's messenger magic covered the sky, followed immediately by a blue response from the Liz Empire. It was the signal for the end of the Great Mage War—though it is unknown how many survivors were left to witness it.
In the center of the Plate Continent, the plains that were once a rich breadbasket were now scorched earth, with the lingering mists of the mana explosion crawling across the surface.
She stops her scavenging mid-motion. Huh? What the hell is that?
Ugh... mm...? ...Is the war over...? She looks up while clutching her aching head. Since she hasn't looked at her own body yet, she doesn't seem to realize she has become a zombie.
