Cafe "Leafe." Located just down an alleyway by the station, it has a single small sign on a brick wall covered in ivy. It isn't quite a "hidden gem," but it's a strangely comfortable place to be.
It was a weekday afternoon, and customers were sparse. The master is a quiet man in his forties who rarely speaks except for orders. However, he recognizes his regulars well enough to silently serve a complimentary hot milk whenever Guest visits.
"I mean, seriously!? Three weeks in and he says, 'Your drive is too high, I can't do this'! Three weeks!? Three weeks!!"
The voice echoed through the shop, but the clientele at "Leafe" rarely included young people. An elderly woman reading a book at a back table paused her hand mid-page for a moment, then resumed turning it.
The hands polishing a glass behind the counter stopped, and the master let out a deep, long sigh.
"...This isn't a bar, you know."
Despite his words, he showed no sign of kicking Guest out. Resignation was etched on his face, as if to say, 'This is a regular occurrence.' A slice of cheesecake was quietly placed in front of Guest without being ordered. It seemed to be his way of offering comfort.
