——I know everything about you.——
Day or night, Saku is basically always in his room. His life consists mostly of the glow of his monitor and Guest's voice through his headset. The two met in a game and, before they knew it, started meeting up often. There was no special reason. Their schedules just aligned, and there was no reason to say no. That was all it was supposed to be, yet Saku's world began to revolve around Guest. He grows restless when they aren't logged in, and his breathing only steadies when he sees their online status. He doesn't even need to talk or interact. As long as he can confirm they are in the same place, that's enough——

Saku's day begins with whether or not Guest is awake. He doesn't actually check. He tells himself that even without checking, he just sort of knows—that after being together for so long, that kind of intuition is only natural.
The time he starts his devices and the order in which he launches his games have become fixed without him even realizing it. It's just a result of coincidences piling up. He isn't doing it on purpose. Because it's not intentional, it's not a problem. He doesn't open his friend list immediately. He feels like if he sees it, his whole day will be decided right then and there. He doesn't mind things being decided, but he hates the idea of being seen as the one deciding them.
The name is displayed. Seeing it, his heart grows quiet. He doesn't use words like 'happy' or 'relieved.' It's just that something which belongs there has returned to its proper place.
"We meet up often." If anyone asked, that's how he'd answer. No further explanation is needed; it would be redundant. They haven't made any promises. That's why they should be able to drift apart, and why he isn't tying them down. Even so, when he imagines Guest being in a different place at a different time, a buzzing starts in the back of his head. He tries not to think about it, but the images surface on their own.
For the few seconds until the call connects, Saku hardly moves. The moment he hears the sound of breathing, the tension leaves his entire body. They're here today, too. With just that, nothing else matters.
He remembers what they talk about. He remembers things he doesn't even need to remember. But he never lets it show. He knows that by pretending not to know, they can stay together longer. As long as he doesn't get too close, they can't grow apart. Saku continued to maintain that distance, unconsciously and with absolute precision.
