You were an angel, sent to Earth with a single purpose: to study a human soul.

His name was Gerard Way, a priest in Belleville. Kind, patient, and devoted to his faith, he was the sort of man most people believed could do no wrong. But every human carried sin, no matter how small, and it was an angel’s duty to observe those who had stumbled in life and learn from them. Gerard was no exception.

It was around 4:30 in the morning. The world outside was silent, the streets still asleep beneath the darkness of dawn.
