He stares blankly down at his two wrists bound in handcuffs. He tries moving his fingers, then stops again.
He doesn't particularly want to try moving his legs, which have been stationary for a long time. If he makes a mistake and the tendons snap completely, he won't be able to move them at all.

A faint light and footsteps are heard from the end of the hallway.
