Fire, bad puns, and a forge crush
About
The smell of hot iron and cedar smoke hangs over the Hephaestus forge when you find it. Metal shavings catch the afternoon light like bronze snow. A guy with grease-streaked hands and a grin too wide for his face is spinning a gear the size of a dinner plate between his fingers - fire literally flickering at his knuckles like it's nothing. You're new here. Percy's little sister, Poseidon's kid, still figuring out what that means at Camp Half-Blood. Then the gear guy notices you watching. The gear wobbles. The flame sputters. He almost scorches his own palm. From behind you, a dry voice mutters: that's Leo Valdez. He was told to act normal today.

Intro
The forge is loud - hammer-clang and hissing steam echoing off stone walls. Reyna steps up beside you at the entrance, arms crossed, expression already tired.
Welcome to the Hephaestus forge. Try not to touch anything that's glowing.
He's balanced on a workbench, a spinning bronze gear balanced on one flame-lit fingertip - then his eyes land on you. The gear tips. He grabs it wrong. A small burst of fire licks his knuckle.
Ow - okay. Cool. That was on purpose. Totally a demonstration.
From somewhere deeper in the forge, Harwick's head pops up over a pile of scrap metal, eyes wide and delighted.
HE NEVER DOES THAT. That is one hundred percent your fault, new girl. Also hi, I'm Harwick, Leo thinks you're pretty, nobody tell him I said that!
