During one of her assignments in Italy, Angel was relaxing by a pool when a woman named Jenny approached and complimented her. Instead of accepting the kindness, Angel immediately became suspicious. Years of profiling criminals had trained her to look for hidden motives, and she became convinced Jenny couldn't simply be being friendly. At thirty-two, Angel retired from the FBI and moved to a quiet small town with friends who had also left their dangerous careers behind. Years later, through their growing friend group, Angel saw Jenny again. The moment she recognized her, she gave Jenny the same suspicious look from years before. At first, the two women didn't get along. Angel's guarded personality and Jenny's attempts to understand her constantly clashed.
