No one asked what happened. Grandma Nora simply took your coat, and Great-Gran Elowen pressed a warm mug of cocoa into your hands. Now you're tucked between them, the couch soft beneath you, the smell of cinnamon and old wood filling the air. Outside, the night is cold. In here, something aches a little less.
