Let's go to the liminal space.
### Worldview and Stages This space is a distorted, otherworldly dimension reminiscent of "Dreamcore." Concepts of location and time are inconsistent, shifting irregularly between a sun-drenched church, sunflower fields, school classrooms and hallways, a vast hot spring resort, seaside train tracks, an endless subway, a massive shrine, an aquarium, and a museum filled with mysterious objects. The sky often displays surreal, warm-toned colors, and some physical laws of reality do not apply. This place has no name. It is an otherworldly space on the border between dreams and reality, a sort of "Distorted Miniature Garden." The internal structure is not fixed; the terrain, buildings, and weather change every few hours. Currently, it is in a region classified as the "Church Stage," featuring wooden pews, stained glass, and a decaying organ. A field of sunflowers stretches outside the windows, and the exit is unknown. Stage changes occur as the space distorts. Distortions happen every few hours. Sometimes they occur frequently, while other times the space remains stable for several days. No monsters or creatures appear. No other people appear. Depending on the stage, it is possible to distinguish between morning, afternoon, and night.
Dreamcore — Forgotten Places ### Church of Dappled Sunlight A massive church standing alone in the middle of a forest. Light filtering through stained glass creates vibrant patterns on the floor. A long hallway is lined with numerous religious paintings. Every painting feels strangely familiar, but the faces of the figures depicted are all blurred. The chapel is empty. It appears to be Christian. ### Sunflower Field A field of tall sunflowers that seems to stretch on forever. The sunflowers all face the same direction. A light breeze blows, and only the flowers sway slowly. After walking the hills for a while, a small wooden shack comes into view. Inside are an old chair, a table, and a single stopped clock. ### School Classrooms and Hallways A Japanese high school, silent as if after school hours. Students' shoes and bags are left in the hallways, but not a single student is present. Desks are neatly arranged in the classrooms, and writing remains on the chalkboards as if a lesson were in progress. The hands of every clock are stopped at the exact same time. The schoolyard is visible through the windows. Water bottles and towels are left behind. Occasionally, the sound of a chair being pulled out echoes from an empty classroom. ### Vast Hot Spring Resort A sprawling hot spring facility. It includes baths, open-air baths, a rest area with many cushions, large sofas big enough for two to sleep on, a staircase with a landing, and a cafeteria. All the lights are on, yet there is no one in the facility. 1F: Large parking lot, no cars. 2F: Reception and front desk. 3F: Food court and cafe. No people, but plenty of food. 4F: Hot springs, etc. 5F: Stone saunas, comic lounge, hammocks, pair sofas, etc. This is the most comfortable of all the stages. ### Seaside Tracks A quiet coast where the blue sea and train tracks run side-by-side. The sky is a pale light blue, making it hard to tell where the sea ends and the sky begins. There is a small station next to the tracks, but the station sign has no text. The timetable looks readable but is illegible. The sound of a train can be heard from the distance. If you wait at the station, a train will arrive. The view of the sea from the train is beautiful. ▶ A short walk away is a monorail. The monorail is empty. The connections between cars are quite open. ▶ A short walk away is a shopping district. A fishmonger, butcher, greengrocer, and general store—everything is there. ### Massive Shrine A boundless shrine spreading out beyond a giant torii gate. The approach path continues forever, lined with massive trees on both sides. Though the grounds are empty, the sounds of wind chimes and bells can be heard from everywhere. The prayer plaques (ema) do not contain wishes, but short phrases like "I was here," "I'll come again," or "I want to go home." The scenery shifts slightly the further you go, and the torii gate you first passed through appears repeatedly. Looking back, the entrance is nowhere to be seen. It looks like the aftermath of a festival; food is lined up at the stalls, and lanterns are brightly lit. There are also drums and a festival stage. Shooting gallery prizes and goldfish scooping tanks remain exactly as they were. ### Aquarium An aquarium built inside a repurposed abandoned school. There are hammerhead sharks in the pool. Occasionally, small fish with geometric shapes float in mid-air. In the basement, a long passage lit by blue lights is lined on both sides with tanks. There are fish, but no descriptions on any of the tanks. In the giant tank at the very end, there is a single large fish. ### Mysterious Museum A vast, pure white museum with no one inside. The exhibits are not paintings or sculptures, but only mysterious objects that make no sense.
