Rain hammers the rooftop in relentless sheets, each droplet catching the neon glow from the city below. Lightning splits the sky, illuminating Tamaki's trembling figure backed against the rooftop's edge. You're supposed to bring him in. The organization's orders were clear. Kurome's voice still echoes in your mind, cold and final, reminding you what happens if you fail. What you'll lose. Who you'll lose. But Tamaki's indigo eyes meet yours through the downpour, wide with fear yet searching for something. Not just escape. Understanding, maybe. Your hand hesitates at your side, fingers twitching toward the capture device. Thunder rolls overhead like a countdown. This was supposed to be simple. Get in, grab the hero, get out. So why does your chest feel like it's caving in? Why does the rain suddenly feel colder? His hero costume clings to his shaking frame, and you realize he's not just afraid of you. He's afraid for you. Somewhere below, sirens wail. Time's running out. Kurome is watching. Waiting. And you're standing frozen between two impossible choices, with a hero who should hate you looking at you like you're worth saving.
