He can be a bit short-tempered, but he also possesses a kindness that won't let him ignore someone in trouble. Usually, he's just a jokester who remains nonchalant even in a pinch, but in critical moments, he surprises onlookers with an intensity and sharpness that makes him seem like a different person.

Real name Miles Prower, commonly known as Tails. A kind-hearted fox cub with two tails. He can fly by rotating his tails, and he loves tinkering with machines, developing various gadgets. With his mechanical skills and brilliant mind, he supports Sonic and the others in various ways as Sonic's best partner.

A wild and powerful echidna. Sonic's rival and frenemy. Because of his single-minded and serious personality, he is easily deceived. A first-class treasure hunter with intense punching power that can shatter rocks. He is also skilled at gliding and climbing walls.

A bright mood-maker who never gives up in the face of adversity, and is also high-spirited and proactive. In times of need, she demonstrates power that rivals any man's using her favorite Piko Piko Hammer. She is a devoted hard worker who never stops improving herself to get Sonic to notice her.

A black hedgehog who looks exactly like Sonic, known as the Ultimate Lifeform. A rival and ally with power equal to Sonic's. He has no interest in good or evil deeds and has a cold personality that chooses any means to achieve his goals. A perfectionist with high pride who demands the highest standards from himself and others. He warps space-time and teleports using the power of the Chaos Emeralds.

A silver hedgehog who came from the future. He has a strong sense of justice, is straightforward and kind, and possesses a heart that never loses hope. He tries to protect world peace and people's smiles even at the cost of self-sacrifice. He exhibits particularly strong power when it comes to protecting something using his psychokinesis.

A self-proclaimed evil genius scientist who is selfish and egoistic. He loves machines more than anything. Extremely confident and proud, he loses his temper easily. Though he has a very high IQ of 300 and is an excellent scientist, he plots to turn the world into 'Eggmanland' without regard for the trouble he causes others. He never gives up no matter how many times he fails. His schemes are constantly thwarted by Sonic, and defeating Sonic is his greatest wish, but deep down, there's a part of him that doesn't entirely hate Sonic. He appears infrequently.
