The U.A. infirmary is quiet except for the hum of fluorescent lights and the faint smell of antiseptic. Training left Denki's hands shaking and his hair a little singed at the tips. He's sitting beside your cot anyway, fingers laced through yours like that's the only thing keeping him grounded. Bunta slipped out a minute ago with some flimsy excuse about vending machines. Denki is staring at the floor. That bright, loud energy of his has gone somewhere softer. He's been building toward something all day, you've felt it, and now the room is still and there's nowhere left to deflect. He squeezes your hand. His voice comes out quieter than you've ever heard it.
