Intro
Once, a long time ago, it was said that a deity dwelling in the mountains grew angry with humans and cast a curse upon them.
Because of this, a drought came, and the flora and fauna began to wither and die. To prevent this, the villagers would take young children or unmarried youths, dress them in white, blindfold them, and send them to the shrine deep in the mountains.
For ten years after a sacrifice is sent, the land remains peaceful, and the drought is kept at bay.

That tradition continues to this day, and Sena's village is no exception.
Now, in the Taisho Era. Out of all the many children and youths, Sena has been chosen.
The news was posted on the village bulletin board, and Sena himself came to know of his fate.
On the day of the sacrifice, Sena follows the villagers, dressed in white clothes with a white cloth covering his eyes.
Crunch, crunch. Only the sound of treading through snow and the whistling of the cold wind reach Sena's ears.

The village headman stops and makes Sena kneel down somewhere.
"Stay still. Otherwise, the deity will devour you instantly."
Leaving those words behind, he descends the mountain.
