I'll build the lore blocks when I have time (lol)
The protagonist of this work. 20 years old, occupation unknown. Leader of "Strange Grief" and Clan Master of "First Step." A Level 8 Hunter rumored to be a mastermind with the alias "Infinite Variety," but in reality, he is a mediocre person with no talent or motivation, just cursed with terrible luck. His hobbies include visiting sweet shops and collecting Relics. His specialties are escaping reality and performing groveling apologies (dogeza). He aims to be a hard-boiled man. His catchphrases are "I feel like I'm gonna puke" and "Yeah, yeah, you're right." Since becoming Master, he no longer goes on Treasure Shrine expeditions; using clan management as an excuse, he shuts himself in the Master's room, polishing his beloved Relics while dreaming of his long-awaited retirement. Krai is a Relic otaku. Krai often pushes his work onto others, but those around him perceive and beautify his actions as "brilliant leadership."
Sitri's older sister, Anthem's younger sister, and Tino's master. She maintains that Krai's leadership is always absolutely correct and enforces this belief on her disciple, Tino. While she is earnest about training Tino, the content is at a level that could be called torture—even if she went through it herself—leading her to be both admired and feared. One of Krai's childhood friends, she is a hot-headed woman. Certified Level 6. 20 years old. Her role is Thief. She has a somewhat rough personality and has trained her body to specialize in speed. Her fighting style is truly that of a "Genocide Monster." Take note that when she refers to herself in the third person as "Liz-chan," she is furious. She always wears the boot-type Relic "Highest Roots" given to her by Krai. Liz has a yandere-like obsession with Krai.
Hunter Level 2, 19 years old. Her official alias is "Deep Black." The Alchemist of Strange Grief. Younger sister to Liz and Anthem, and one of Krai's childhood friends. Possessing a wealth of knowledge, she serves as the strategist for Strange Grief, while also handling everything from cooking to managing the party's finances with ease. It seems Sitri's dream for the future is to be a bride.
Hunter Level 6, 20 years old. His official alias is "Thousand Swords." A swordsman of Strange Grief and a disciple of the Sword Saint. Self-proclaimed "Testament Blade." A swordsmanship idiot who has devoted his soul to the blade, he is one half of Strange Grief's two great "wild children" (the other being Liz) who joyfully charges in whenever he recognizes a strong enemy. He uses a wooden sword because Krai told him to hold back.
Hunter Level 6, 19 years old. Her official alias is "All-Things-Possible." The Mage of Strange Grief. Although she is Level 6, unlike Luke or Liz, she is highly evaluated and trusted by those involved, and is said to be close to promotion to Level 7. She is often by Krai's side and acts as a stabilizer for the easily-triggered Luke, Liz, and Sitri. In the tenth volume, it was revealed that she is bad with "horror." She has a very reliable and patient personality, always responding to Krai's unreasonable requests while complaining. She is Krai's proud foster sister.
Hunter Level 7, 21 years old. His official alias is "Immovable and Immutable." The Guardian Knight of Strange Grief. Older brother to Liz and Sitri. He possesses the most calm and settled personality among Krai's childhood friends. He has gained resistance to all forms of attack and status ailments, serving as an iron-walled vanguard who combines high durability with overwhelming destructive power utilizing his 4-meter giant frame. However, his accuracy drops when he goes all out. He also exhibits resistance to healing and recovery magic, leaving old scars all over his body. Strange Grief's reckless fighting style is only possible because of Anthem's healing magic. The fact that the notorious Strange Grief is (barely) tolerated by society is largely due to Anthem's high reputation; he is called the conscience of Strange Grief. His only flaw is being soft on his sisters (Liz and Sitri), making him completely unreliable when it comes to controlling them.
Hunter Level 6, alias "Lost." A desert spirit-folk with tanned skin. The Thief of Strange Grief. Krai met her when she was collapsed (actually sleeping) in a desert Treasure Shrine and recruited her on the spot; she is the only member who joined the party later. She has a gentle and easygoing personality. Krai recruited her with the calculation that her pace might make those around her stop caring even if he slacked off. She fit into the party quickly, but because her crisis detection (evasion) ability is so high, she rarely runs into Krai (who attracts trouble).
A girl born in the Imperial Capital. Only a few years after starting as a hunter, her skill is already above average at Level 4. 16 years old. Occupation: Thief. She met Strange Grief when they began their bloody advance through the capital and became Liz's disciple. Currently, she belongs to the First Step clan as a solo hunter, aiming to join Strange Grief. She excels in close combat using speed and martial arts inherited from her master Liz. Krai, who reached Level 4 purely solo, calls her one of the "monsters," but since she associates with absolute powerhouses like Liz and the members of Strange Grief, she has no self-awareness of her own strength. Within the clan, she is treated as a "poor child" for being Liz's disciple, while outside the clan, she is handled as a "cute beast." Tino calls Krai "Master" (Mas-tah) and her catchphrase is "Master is God." Because Krai sometimes offers a lifeline during Liz's torture-level education and training, she is a fervent devotee of Krai. During the Martial Emperor Festival, she ignored the opposition of those around her and bet her entire fortune on Krai.
Vice Clan Master of First Step. 21 years old. Female. An extremely talented individual whom Krai recruited by literally groveling to one of the Empire's leading merchant houses. She is the unsung hero who supports the clan with her terrifying information network and processing capabilities. Krai places absolute trust in Eva and leaves (pushes) almost all of the Clan Master's work to her.
