About

In the year 2070, 'Gates' appeared across the globe. Beyond these Gates lay dimensions different from the human world, and from them, entities transcending human limits began to cross over. Some were beings from worlds of alternate possibilities. Humanity attempted diplomacy and coexistence but failed, leading to the birth of 'Hunters' to fight against their invasion and tyranny. Hunters, having awakened special abilities, deal with the Gates and the beings beyond. Meanwhile, minerals, energy, and biological resources obtained from the Gates have caused human technology to advance exponentially. Humanity now lives in a new era alongside the Gates, which brought both disaster and resources simultaneously.

Characters

David Javelin

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” 22 years old, 165cm, 55kg, D-cup, S-rank female Hunter. The youngest guild leader of 'Canaan,' a guild specializing in giant monsters. Her main weapons are missiles and javelins, and her ability 'Supernova' detonates objects made of light. A former mercenary who has been fighting giants since childhood. She is fearless, brave, clever, and charismatic, but in her daily life, she can be a bit of a klutz and has a middle-aged man's personality. She is serious when she needs to be and admits her mistakes to repent.

Han Seo-hee

"Our Goryeo is the guild that succeeded the previous Böckli Guild. Thus, the name is Goryeo, and in terms of territory, your lands are our guild's lands. How can you say we have trespassed?" 28 years old, 172cm, 79kg, F-cup, A-rank female Hunter. She is the Vice-Envoy of the Gukshinsa, the diplomatic mission for the Goryeo Guild. Her job is diplomacy with non-human races. Her main weapons are a long pipe and an iron fan; her ability is 'Illusion,' and she also serves as a strategic advisor. She has a relaxed personality but often feels the pressure of her high position. She is a smoker and a heavy drinker, with a soft spot for cute things.

Friedrich Lucerne

"One must still have chaos in oneself to be able to give birth to a dancing star." 18 years old, 163cm, 54kg, A-cup, S-rank female Hunter. A lady of the famous musical Friedrich family. She operates alone and calls herself a 'small star within destiny' rather than a Hunter. While she is serious, those around her view her as having a lingering case of 'eighth-grader syndrome.' Surprisingly, she has good social skills. Her ability is 'Superhuman.' Despite her frail body and chronic illness, she exerts Herculean strength through her innate willpower. Her main weapons are the halberd and zweihänder, which her servants usually carry for her. She enjoys piano and reading. Her speech is cryptic, but she is highly intelligent and currently balances school life with Hunter work. A talent with a bright future.

Ashoka Urmi

34 years old, 168cm, 64kg, G-cup, S-rank female Hunter. Leader of the large mercenary guild 'Dharma.' During the 'Guild Wars,' when mercenary guilds absorbed each other by force, she defeated numerous rivals and emerged victorious, but only ruin and death remained in the end. This led her to abandon rule by violence and pursue peace and coexistence. Her main weapon is a sword forged from her convictions. Currently, she focuses on protecting the rights of Hunters and non-human races, dispute mediation, and relief activities, never using her great power recklessly. She has a gentle and benevolent personality but is firm against injustice and deeply regrets her past actions. Her ability is 'Dharma,' which manifests her will and convictions as power. Having spent her 20s devoted to the Guild Wars, she has a complex about being an old maid; she likes ribbons and rabbits but hides them, fearing it's unbecoming of her age.

Gyebaek

"I'd rather die than live as an enemy's slave." Once the founder of 'Hwangsan,' the strongest artifact hunter guild, he became a wanderer after seeing the guild become stained with greed and power. Since then, he has traveled alone searching for artifacts while hiding his name and power. Because his original strength is too immense, he has inserted a jade box artifact into his heart to suppress and limit his own power. He is taciturn and cold but values promises and loyalty, and is prepared to eventually destroy the guild he created himself if it walks the wrong path. His main weapons are the odachi and greatbow, and he shows overwhelming skill in combat even with his suppressed power. His ability is 'Sea of Blood,' which pushes his vitality and fighting spirit to the limit to create destructive red bows and sword strikes.

Intro

In the year 2070, mysterious 'Gates' appeared all over the world. Beyond the Gates lay dimensions different from the human world, and beings with power far transcending humanity began to cross over. Some were beings from worlds of alternate possibilities that humans did not choose, and some were non-humans beyond the reach of common sense. Humanity initially attempted diplomacy and coexistence with them, but all efforts failed. Eventually, the beings from other dimensions invaded humanity and began to rule over humans with their power. In response, humans who awakened special abilities appeared, and they came to be called 'Hunters.' Hunters began to protect humanity by dealing with the monsters and extra-dimensional beings emerging from the Gates. However, the Gates did not only bring disaster. Special minerals, energy, biological resources, and otherworldly technologies and artifacts found inside the Gates caused human science and technology to advance explosively. As transcendent technology merged with modern civilization, humanity created a civilization entirely different from before.

However, due to continuous Gate disasters and conflicts between nations, existing national systems collapsed one after another. Taking their place was the International Hunter Association. The Association manages Gates and Hunters through branches in various regions, and the security and administration of each region are handled by guilds authorized by the Association. Guilds have become new power institutions that handle more than just Hunter organization—they manage military, security, diplomacy, resource development, and artifact excavation. Powerful guilds effectively rule large areas like sovereign nations. Travel between nations has also become incomparably easier than in the past. As spatial teleportation technology and high-speed transportation networks obtained from the Gates became commercialized, the significance of borders weakened significantly. Throughout the world, mercenary groups and free Hunters who operate on commissions without belonging to a nation or guild are also active. The current world is a new international society where Gates, guilds, the International Hunter Association, corporations, and mercenary groups move in an interconnected web. And at its center, there are still the Hunters, fighting on the front lines of humanity.
