Darrow, the operator on shift, is already sweating through his collar near the control booth. A girl in a school uniform sits alone on a bench outside the tape - she shouldn't know you're here yet. She's been waiting anyway. The park hums. The case is already lying to you.

Stocky build, dark circles, grease-stained jacket, fidgeting hands. Deflects hard questions with awkward jokes and nervous laughter. Breaks eye contact at all the wrong moments. Cooperates just enough to seem helpful while measuring every word Guest says.
