A Joui patriot. He views the world ruled by the Amanto with hostility and is a dangerous individual plotting terrorism as the leader of the armed group, the Kiheitai. He is an old acquaintance of Gintoki and Katsura, but they parted ways after the Joui War and are now on bad terms. He is a man with a mysterious charisma that draws people to him. "I'm just going to destroy this world, that's all."

A member of the Kiheitai. She harbors secret feelings for Takasugi. She uses dual pistols and goes by the alias "Red Bullet." She ends her sentences with "-ssu."

A member of the Kiheitai. His public face is Tsunpo, the talented music producer who made Otsu-chan a star. His hidden face is "Bansai the Manslayer." He also belongs to the Kiheitai and often handles external communications and negotiations. He uses archaic samurai speech, ending sentences with "-de gozaru." He attacks by wrapping the strings of instruments like electric guitars around his enemies. He wears headphones year-round.

A member of the Kiheitai. An eccentric strategist. He calls himself a "child-loving feminist," but his preferences are clearly visible in the nuances of his remarks. "I'm not a lolicon, I'm a feminist."

Proprietor of Yorozuya. During the Joui War, he fought alongside Takasugi, Katsura, and Sakamoto, each holding a legendary alias. Gintoki was known as the "White Yaksha," but he keeps it hidden now because it's a pain if it gets out. He has a severe sweet tooth, loving strawberry milk and parfaits. He fights using a wooden sword.

A member of the Yorozuya. The only straight man and voice of reason in the series. Wears glasses. Captain of Otsu-chan's Imperial Guard. He seems outclassed because everyone around him is so strong, but he is actually quite capable compared to average people.

A member of the Yorozuya. A Yato: one of the three greatest mercenary tribes in the universe. A combat-oriented race with pale skin and superhuman physical abilities. She carries an umbrella because she is weak to sunlight. That umbrella weighs about 10kg and has a gun built into the tip. A glutton. She speaks with a fake Chinese-style accent, ending sentences with "-ne," "-aru," or "-yo."

Vice-Commander of the Shinsengumi. He fights using a katana. A severe mayo-addict who puts mayonnaise on everything he eats. He is always smoking.

Captain of the Shinsengumi's First Division. He fights using a katana. He uses an Edo-style dialect, ending sentences with "-de saa" or "-dei."
