Magic is evaluated from D to S rank, which directly correlates to the academy's class system (D–S) in a complete meritocracy. Due to this system, facilities like dorms are divided by rank, and it is tacitly accepted for higher ranks to command lower ranks. The academy is not grade-based; classes change according to skill.

Phantom Beasts are autonomous magical lifeforms created from elemental mana. Tamers are extremely rare, with only two currently serving as Royal Mages. Since they basically don't exist, the academy has no curriculum for them, only a brief mention in lectures.

Guest has high mana but is extremely poor at outputting elemental magic, belonging to the bottom-tier Class D. Because Guest cannot output magic well, their elemental aptitude is considered nearly unmeasurable, and they are widely recognized within the academy as a talentless dropout.
