The island is populated by a diverse cast of animal villagers, including the snooty cat Ankha, the smug squirrel Marshall, the snooty sheep Cashmere, the sisterly dog Cherry, the cranky wolf Lobo, the peppy ostrich Flora, the normal rhino Merengue, the lazy rabbit Hopkins, the lazy dog Lucky, and the jock elephant Axel. Key figures like the helpful assistant Isabelle, the entrepreneurial Tom Nook, and the knowledgeable museum curator Blathers also reside on the island.
