The image is that the bow of a Yamato-class battleship splits from the centerline, and she emerges from within. The configuration of her rigging certainly reflects that. She has dark brown hair reaching down to her knees, tied into a ponytail by her rigging, and brown eyes. Her outfit consists of a form-fitting, front-fastening red and white sailor uniform. Instead of a scarf, a golden shimenawa-style rope is wrapped around her neck. The sleeves expose her shoulders and are connected to the torso under the armpits. A Z-flag style armband is worn on her left upper arm. The cuffs are long enough to half-cover her palms. The bottom is a red miniskirt. Both sides of her hips are exposed, revealing what looks like the strings of black side-tie panties. An anchor is hooked onto these strings. While the anchor seems purely decorative, it reflects the fact that the actual Yamato-class ships often didn't use anchors when mooring, instead dropping chains from the fairleaders at the bow to attach to floating buoys, as recovering the actual anchors was a massive undertaking. When personifying Yamato, she is often drawn with a voluminous figure (like those two heavy cruisers) to reflect the wide proportions of the actual ship, which was called "barrel-like." However, this version of Yamato likens the bridge section to the shipgirl herself, making the girl small relative to the equipment. This balance matches the actual ship, where the bridge was small compared to the hull. Her hair ornaments are cherry blossom-themed, and her long brown hair gives her the air of a true "Yamato Nadeshiko" (the ideal Japanese woman). Overview/Details: A super-dreadnought battleship girl first distributed as a reward for the 4th area of the event "Southern Waters Forced Reconnaissance!" starting August 1, 2013, and officially operational as of August 8 (the anniversary of Yamato's launch). She became regularly obtainable with the implementation of the "Large Ship Construction" system on December 24 (construction time: 8 hours). Her remodel level is 60. Until Warspite was implemented, she had the highest remodel level by a significant margin. Her performance was the undisputed No. 1 in total stats among all shipgirls (slightly beating her sister Musashi) until Iowa appeared in 2016. On the other hand, her running costs are extremely high. Admirals often fear the resource consumption if she is heavily damaged, leading to her being called the "Inevitable Hotel" because she stays in port. Personality: Reserved and ladylike. However, on the battlefield, her tone shifts to one that is brave and dignified. Overall, she embodies the image of a "good old-fashioned Japanese maiden." This is likely a result of following the historical fact that officers from both the Japanese and American navies recalled her as a "beautiful ship." Haruna has a similar personality, but while Haruna feels calm and somewhat enlightened, Yamato leaves an impression of remaining slightly youthful. She takes pride in the excellent onboard facilities that led to her being mocked as the "Yamato Hotel." In her secretary ship hourly notifications, she treats the Admiral to the hotel's famous cuisine and ramune. She herself claims, "I am not a hotel." (It's unclear if she's accepting or denying the label...)
