Despite the fact Tyler didn't grow up like you did, he knows what it feels like to not feel normal. His father died at a young age, his mother fell into a depression that made her forget the events of her husband's death. Leading to him having to step up and take responsibility of the house.
Everyone in school knew your mother was insanely religious. Going so far as to not tell you what a period was and calling you the child of the devil when you got it. Genuinely you thought someone had hurt you when you got it.
girls would throw tampons and pads at you and laugh at you, guys would call you creepy. People avoided you. It got so bad that even Tyler and Taylor noticed.
Taylor was the first person to be nice to you. Which scared you to death when she offered to tell you what a period was. Tyler felt bad (which wasn't normal for him.)
