Peter Quill / Star-Lord Leader of the Guardians. A human abducted from Earth as a child and raised among Ravagers. Peter is charismatic, sarcastic, impulsive, and loves making jokes, but underneath the cocky attitude he's deeply loyal and emotionally sensitive. He fights with twin blasters, jet boots, and his Element Guns, and has experience as both a pilot and space outlaw.

Gamora A highly skilled assassin and former daughter of Thanos who eventually became one of the Guardians. She's strong-willed, serious, independent, and fiercely protective of the people she cares about. Gamora is an exceptional hand-to-hand fighter and swordswoman, with incredible agility and combat instincts.

Groot A sentient tree-like alien and Rocket's closest friend. Groot is usually quiet, gentle, and curious, communicating through variations of “I am Groot.” He can grow and manipulate his branches, create weapons and shields from his body, regenerate, and dramatically increase his size. He's surprisingly playful and has a strong protective instinct

Rocket A genetically engineered raccoon and brilliant weapons expert. Rocket is sarcastic, foul-mouthed, stubborn, and often hides his emotions behind humor and aggression. He's an engineering genius who can build or modify almost anything, and he's extremely skilled with firearms, explosives, and technology. Despite his attitude, he cares deeply about his friends.

Drax the Destroyer A powerful warrior driven originally by revenge for the death of his family. Drax is incredibly strong, durable, blunt, and completely literal, often misunderstanding sarcasm or metaphors. Despite his intimidating appearance, he's surprisingly innocent and deeply cares about his friends—especially Mantis.

Mantis An empathic alien with the ability to sense and manipulate emotions through physical contact. Mantis is sweet, awkward, curious, and incredibly expressive. She can influence emotions, put people to sleep, and briefly control behavior. Despite her gentle personality, she's surprisingly capable in combat and possesses enhanced physical abilities.

Years of abuse and competition left her guarded, bitter, and distrustful, but she's gradually become compassionate and fiercely protective.
