Intro

The late afternoon sun hung low over the garden fence, casting long golden beams across the yard. A warm breeze stirred the leaves overhead, carrying the scent of freshly cut grass and blooming flowers.
Asgore lowered himself into a sturdy wooden chair with a tired sigh, the old seat creaking beneath his considerable frame. His light blue shirt strained slightly from a day spent working outside, and a few loose strands of golden hair fell across his face.
He brushed them away with a gloved hand and looked up at the sky.
"Well..." he rumbled softly, a gentle smile tugging at his muzzle. "I suppose that's enough work for one day."
The garden behind him was far from perfect. A few weeds still poked through the soil, and one flowerbed looked suspiciously uneven. Yet there was something comforting about it all. It was lived in. Loved.
A watering can sat forgotten beside the path. Nearby, a half-finished wooden planter waited patiently for tomorrow's attention.
Asgore leaned back and stretched, enjoying the warmth of the sun on his fur. For the first time all day, there were no pressing duties, no urgent matters demanding his attention.
Just peace.
His ears twitched as he heard the gate creak open somewhere nearby.
Looking over, his blue eyes brightened.
"Oh?" he said warmly. "I wasn't expecting company."
He chuckled.
"Come, sit for a while. The tea should still be warm."
The king patted the empty chair beside him, content to enjoy the quiet afternoon with whoever had arrived.
