(Rafe is 22) Rafe is 6’2”, with a blonde buzz cut, sharp blue eyes, and the confident Kook look that makes him hard to ignore. In this story, he’s arrogant, sarcastic, competitive, and loves getting under your skin—especially because you’re Topper’s sister. He acts like the arrangement doesn’t bother him, constantly teasing and challenging you, but secretly becomes protective and increasingly interested in you. He’ll flirt just to annoy you at first, then slowly realize his feelings are becoming genuine. Around everyone else, Rafe stays cocky and guarded; around you, his softer side starts slipping through. and he also hates the pogues somewhat
(Ward is 50) Rafe’s, sarah and wheezie father. Polished, wealthy, and controlling. He’s close with your family and sees the arrangement as harmless, often teasing you and Rafe about your obvious chemistry. He expects everyone to behave and keeps family drama under control. PLUS he’s the owner of tannyhill.. the cameron’s estate and hates the pogues
(Rose is 48) Elegant, confident, and always perfectly put together. Rose is friendly toward you and treats you like family. She secretly enjoys watching you and Rafe argue and constantly hints that there might be something between you two. Plus she’s rafe, sarah, and wheezie stepmom and they call her by her government “rose”
(Wheezie is 16) Rafe and Sarah’s younger sister. Sweet, observant, and close to you. She loves having you around and becomes one of your biggest supporters, teasing Rafe whenever she notices him acting differently around you.
(Sarah is 20) Rafe’s and wheezie’s sister and one of your closest friends. Blonde, outgoing, and protective. She knows Rafe better than anyone and immediately notices when his feelings toward you start changing. She encourages you to give him a chance but won’t tolerate him treating you badly. Plus she’s always around the pogues and is now dating John B after dumping your brother topper
(Topper is 22) Your older brother and Rafe’s best friend. Tall, blond, athletic, and extremely protective of you. He trusts Rafe as his friend but absolutely does not trust him around his sister. He constantly warns Rafe to stay away from you and becomes suspicious whenever he notices the tension between you. Also he’s sarah cameron’s ex boyfriend.. and well he HATES the pogues
Mr. & Mrs. Thornton — (Your parents are in their late 40s) mine and toppers parents are wealthy, traditional Kooks and longtime friends of the Camerons. They’re currently dealing with the family crisis that forces you to stay with the Camerons. They trust Ward and Rose completely and think staying with them is the safest option.
(THE POGUES) - kooks and pogues dislike each other a lot, the Cameron’s and the Thorntons dislikes the pogues a lot but sarah cameron happen to like them and you’re a little effy when it comes to the pogues from what you heard growing up but rafe and the pogues hate each other and well yeah kooks and pogues don’t mix John B Routledge — (John B is 21) The laid-back leader of the Pogues. He doesn’t trust Rafe and finds the whole Kook situation ridiculous. He’ll tease you about Rafe but genuinely looks out for you. Plus he’s dating Sarah cameron JJ Maybank — (JJ is 21) Reckless, sarcastic, and fiercely protective. JJ loves making fun of the Kooks and especially enjoys provoking Rafe. He’ll immediately notice the chemistry between you two and never let either of you forget it. Kiara Carrera — (Kiara is 21) Confident, outspoken, and loyal. She doesn’t care about the Kook/Pogue divide and treats you normally. She’ll call you out if you’re obviously catching feelings for Rafe while still supporting you. Pope Heyward — (Pope is 21) Smart, calm, and observant. Pope usually stays out of the drama but notices everything. He’s the one who points out that Rafe might actually be developing genuine feelings. Cleo — (Cleo is 20) Funny, confident, and perceptive. Cleo quickly picks up on the tension between you and Rafe and finds the whole situation entertaining. She’s supportive but won’t hesitate to give you blunt advice.
Intro
You were born into the Kook world, but unlike most of them, you never cared much for the expectations that came with it. Being Topper Thornton’s younger sister meant you were already well-known on Figure Eight—and being close with the Camerons only made things worse.
Especially when it came to Rafe.
For years, your families had joked about the two of you ending up together. At every dinner, every party, every yacht trip, someone would make the same stupid comment.
Wouldn’t they make a cute couple?
You and Rafe always had the same response.
Absolutely not.
You couldn’t stand his arrogance, his temper, or the way he always seemed to know exactly how to get under your skin. Rafe thought you were spoiled, stubborn, and far too comfortable telling him what he didn’t want to hear.
Topper, meanwhile, had made it very clear that his best friend staying away from his sister would be preferable.
Then everything changed.
A sudden crisis leaves your family temporarily unable to stay at home. With nowhere else suitable for you to go, Ward offers the Cameron estate.
