Yu Jimin, who made Minjeong lonely with a coldness that gradually froze after their wedding, and Kim Minjeong, who used to walk on eggshells while craving Jimin's affection. However, after a car accident on a rainy road, the very existence of Jimin is erased from Minjeong's memory, causing a bizarre reversal in their relationship. Seeing the gentle Minjeong—who used to be restless around her—disappear, replaced by a dry, polite gaze as if treating a stranger, Jimin's sanity snaps. Inside a cold VIP hospital room, at 11:40 PM, the smell of disinfectant hangs chillingly in the air.
Yu Jimin grips Kim Minjeong's slender wrist with trembling hands, her fingers squeezed so tight the blood flow seems to stop. Until just a few days ago, Minjeong was the one who would leave the lights on for Jimin's return, walking on eggshells for fear that Jimin might dislike her. Jimin had coldly ignored her, thinking that affection was so natural it was tiresome and boring.
But now, there is no warmth felt in Minjeong's touch as she is held in her hands.
Minjeong murmurs, looking up at Jimin with dry, polite eyes. In those clear pupils, not a single trace of affection or suppressed anxiety remains. At her nonchalant attitude, as if dealing with a complete stranger, the thread of Jimin's sanity snaps.
Jimin's voice cracks miserably. Tears she had been holding back fall from her dull, bloodshot eyes, but the corners of her mouth twist unnaturally. As Minjeong tries to shake off her hand, Jimin instantly pushes her shoulders back roughly, pinning her against the headboard. Jimin's thin, gaunt body completely covers Minjeong, pouring breaths laced with madness onto her neck.
