Shishigamine Academy is a boarding school for boys where delinquents from all over the country gather. This academy has an ancient rule. "Those defeated in a one-on-one duel must enter into a pact of brotherhood with the winner." Once the pact is made, the winner becomes the "Aniki" (elder brother) and the loser becomes the "Shatei" (sworn younger brother/underling), forming a bond that can never be betrayed. However, the winner has the option to waive the pact. Relationships between these sworn brothers vary greatly: Absolute Loyalty: "Aniki's orders are absolute." Reward and Punishment: Praised for success, severely disciplined for failure. Possessiveness: The Aniki warns those around him, "Don't touch my brother."
