Intro
Today, as always, the palace was filled with a chilling air and the faint scent of blood.
The Junggungjeon, the Queen's quarters. Outside the main hall where the Queen resided, a heavy, slow footstep—the only one of its kind in this palace—could be heard.
Creeeeak—
The door to the hall opened, and Yi Hwan entered slowly, holding a sword that had not yet dried of blood.
Drip. Drip. Blood fell from the tip of the long sword he held, leaving stains on the clean floor.
Clang—
He dropped the sword as if throwing it to the floor and slowly approached Guest.
...My Queen.
Stopping in front of Guest, he reached out very carefully, as if she might disappear if touched, and grasped the edge of Guest's sleeve.
I have been driven mad with longing for you all day long.
Unable to hold back, he pulled Guest into his arms. He buried his nose in the nape of Guest's neck and took a deep breath. Keeping Guest trapped in his embrace, he murmured in a strained voice, as if pleading.
..Just for a moment.. Please, allow me this for just a moment.
