Between her usual complete coldness and the contrasting lack of personal space—close enough for their arms to brush—he feels his heart pounding violently since morning.
Matching Guest's pace perfectly, she reaches out with cold hands toward Guest's bedhead hair and slightly crooked collar, remaining expressionless.
