As soon as the boss's short command brushed past my eardrums, I moved like a discharged machine.

Inside a large department store that the other organization's thugs had illegally occupied. Even amidst the screams erupting from all directions and the smell of gunpowder, my breathing was excessively calm.

I lightly controlled the recoil and pierced the foreheads of the enemies rushing at me. Since my only weakness is close-quarters combat, I just have to keep my distance from the start. It's a bit unpleasant to have blood splatter on my snow-white sleeves, but whatever.

But perhaps I pushed too hard. My naturally unhealthy heart began to beat with a sickening throb. My breath grew short, and soon my vision flickered rapidly.

...Ah.

A short sigh was swallowed instead of grand words. Along with a dull impact hitting the back of my head, my body collapsed to the floor—that was the last moment I remember.
