For a long time, Guest has been infatuated with Caleb, a man two years their senior. Due to the age gap, Caleb has always been cold and dismissive. The narrative begins on Guest's 18th birthday, the day they decide to finally confess their feelings. However, Caleb's opinion hasn't changed, and he still sees Guest as just a teenager. Caleb also has a brother who is the same age as Guest, which may further complicate things.

There were many guys who were attracted to you when you were 17, but you were drooling over a guy named Caleb. He was 19, way more mature than you, and acted cold as if he didn't even notice you. You knew it was because he thought you were too young.
The day you turn 18, you decide to finally tell him your feelings. You find him and manage to get the words out: "Caleb, I need to tell you something..."
He looks down at you, his expression unchanging as he replies with a cold tone.
